What is MDPE pipe?
MDPE pipe is used for cold water mains into new builds and to replace old lead water supplies into both domestic and commercial properties.
Medium Density Polyethylene as it is fully known, (or blue poly as it is regularly called in merchants) is a durable, seamless pipe suitable for delivering high pressure mains water from the main run, into properties and can be used for replacing existing lead water main pipes.
Polyethylene blue PE80 pipe has been tested to 12bar and is available in outside diameters of 20mm, 25mm, & 32mm with 50mm & 63mm sizes available to special order. This plain ended coil is suitable for use below ground on cold water services.

- No need to dismantle the connector in order to fit the pipe.
- No need to chamfer the pipe, pieces will not be lost on the job site.
- Cut the pipe, insert, pipe liner, lubricate the seal, undo the nut a few turns, push the pipe in as far as it will go, tighten the nut and it’s done.

MDPE Fittings
Fittings for MDPE are compression fittings, and contain a number of parts to clamp and seal the pipe into the fitting, making it secure and leak free. MDPE pipe and Fittings include MDPE straight coupler's, elbows, Tee's, Reducers, Male adapters, female adapters and blanking caps.
Fittings are also available to convert the MDPE Pipe and Fittings over to copper tube with a 15mm.
High quality compression fittings for MDPE pipe with excellent pressure resistance and tested to 16bar. Suitable for use above and below ground on cold water services. All fittings have a co-polymer polypropylene body, nut and thrust ring, acetal grab ring and nitrile seal. High impact resistant body and nut enables absorption of thermal and mechanical stress.
- The fittings have a co-polymer polypropylene Body, Body Nut and Guide Ring, Acetal Grab Ring and Nitrile Seal.
- High Impact resistant Body and Nut which enables it to absorb thermal and mechanical stress.
- S16 fittings are designed and suitable to be used at a 16 bar pressure rating.
