Over time and with the developments in the polyethylene and polymer industry and also since PE 100 polyethylene has been manufactured, the PE 80 polyethylene is not anymore used and it going out of date.
PE 80 polyethylene materials are currently used in manufacturing Double-wall polyethylene corrugated pipes and some manufacturers of polyethylene pipes are still using PE 80 grade materials in production of huge size and under pressure pipes which is wrong and in short and long term will be to the detriment of the consumers. The polyethylene pipes which are produced by PE 80 materials are used in small sizes and for irrigation of agricultural lands and gardens. Using PE 80 materials for production of polyethylene pipes is abolished and it is better to leave these grade of materials behind and forget them for good.
The following tables are prepared according to DIN8074 standard and ISIRI13310 and ISIRI14421 standards for single wall PE 80 polyethylene pipe with safety index of 1.25 and temperature conditions of 20 degrees and 50 years of allowed working pressure.
PE 80 polyethylene pipes price
The price for PE 80 materials is different based on the pipe type whether be double wall corrugated pipes or single wall polyethylene pipes. using PE 80 materials for high pressure pipes and critical applications is not recommended and it is abolished. These materials (PE 80) are mostly used for double wall corrugated pipes and polyethylene spiral pipes for transmission of sewages and small sized polyethylene pipes are used for irrigation and hence PE 80 pipes are cheaper than PE 100 pipes. the other reason is that there are no self-colored PE 80 materials and they are entirely supplied by domestic resources and petrochemicals and therefore the final price of PE 80 pipes is less than the other samples.
It is highly recommended not to use PE 80 materials due to the developments in the materials technology and production of PE 100 materials.
